Dr Elisabeth Grindel-Denby joined GISMA in March 2018 as Director Academic Affairs. Previously, she worked as Academic Director for Kaplan International Pathways in the UK where she provided academic oversight and ensured the quality of learning, teaching and enhancement. Prior to this, she worked in teaching and research roles at Lancaster University (UK) and at Potsdam University (Germany).
Elisabeth brings with her expertise on international students which stems not only from her work in the sector, but also from her research interest in the field of migration sociology. She is the author of the book How do the Partners of International Students Adapt and Contribute to Their Receiving Communities. A Sociological Study of a University Town, which portrays the findings of a first study of partners of international students in a European context.
