Prof. Dr. Sara Ravan Ramzani
Life and Career
Prof. Dr. Sara Ravan Ramzani is a distinguished Senate Member and Head of the Business Department at Gisma University of Applied Sciences. With extensive experience as a Principal Lecturer, Programme Director, and Postgraduate Director at prestigious institutions across Berlin, Malaysia, the UK, and Singapore, she has established herself as a highly regarded academic and industry advisor.
At Gisma, Prof. Dr. Ramzani teaches a diverse range of modules in management, economics, and accounting. She earned her PhD in Economics and Information Systems from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) in 2015. Her academic contributions are exemplary, with 89 high-quality and innovative publications to her name. Notably, she was awarded the “Best Innovative Paper Award” at the Sydney International Business Research Conference in 2018 for her outstanding research.
Her research primarily focuses on finance, monetary economics, marketing, human resource management, and corporate management. Prof. Dr. Ramzani’s expertise is further demonstrated through her leadership and active involvement in international research projects, including the United Nations project “Measuring Up 2.0,” which addresses the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 9 and SDG 16).
As a mentor, Prof. Dr. Ramzani has successfully supervised 28 doctoral students in the fields of project management, economics, and finance. She has also served as an external examiner for over 40 PhD viva sessions and chaired numerous viva examinations. With her wealth of knowledge, dedication to research and teaching, and international experience, she makes a significant contribution to the academic community, bridging the gap between theory and practice.
